Try a little Tenderness

The Art of Healing with Tenderness June 10 2025

We live in an era of knowing.
We have become aware that trauma lives in the body.
Social media has showered us with how the nervous system works—

fight, flight, freeze, fawn.
We know how dysregulation shapes behavior,

how early attachment patterns form us,

and how polyvagal theory explains it all.

And while this knowing has brought validation, relief, and language

 to what was once invisible...
It can also weigh us down.

We become walking encyclopedias of our own wounding.
Flooded with charts, terms, and techniques.
Wired to analyze our responses more than we feel them.
Obsessed with fixing what was broken instead of tending to what is still whole.

This is where the healing journey must gently shift.

Away from the mental noise of over-analysis…
Toward the quiet art of tenderness.

Because before the theories, there was a child who needed safety.
And before the labels, there was a body aching for softness.
And before we had words like “regulation,” there was a longing to simply feel okay.

So today, I want to remind you:

Healing begins not with knowledge, but with kindness.

With the courage to be soft with yourself.
To lay down the books and ask your heart,
“What do you need right now?”

This is the Art of Tenderness:

Leaning into the process not with urgency, but with curiosity.
Meeting the parts of you that are afraid—not with force, but with listening.

Letting your healing be less of a project… and more of a relationship.

Yes, be informed. But don't forget to be moved.
By beauty. By breath. By the spark of your own aliveness.

It's not just about nervous system regulation.
It's about the passion to imagine a new way of being.
A life woven with softness.
A life rebuilt with care.
A life dreamed into existence with your own two hands.

Healing is not a performance.
It's a homecoming.

Welcome yourself back, tenderly.

 With love and gratitude

Connie
